Nordic Libraries Annual

NLA logo, green and blue compass. Nordic Libraries Annual is an annual conference looking at topical issues in public libraries and library development.

The Nordic Libraries Annual 2025 will be organized in Helsinki on October 29-30. The event spans two days. The first day includes library visits. The presentations will take place the following day, October 30th, in Maijansali at Oodi Central Library. The programme will be published soon!

The theme of the 2025 conference is "Libraries Working Against Polarisation". Polarization is one of the most topical issues in society today, and it also affects libraries and their field of work. Public libraries are considered vital societal institutions. Nordic Libraries Annual 2025 will examine polarization as a phenomenon from various perspectives and highlight Nordic examples of how libraries can help mitigate polarization. We will hear examples from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and of course, Finland.
