Insurance providers’ annual fire prevention charge
If you run an insurance business in Finland, you must pay a fire prevention charge each year and register your payments with the competent Regional State Administrative Agency. We collect the payments and decide when each year’s payment is due.
Information about the annual fire prevention charge
We send registration instructions to insurers by post. The Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland sets the due date for payment and the deadline by which payments must be registered each calendar year.
The fire prevention charge is three per cent of the total insurance premiums associated with fire risk charged in the previous year, plus three per cent of the interest calculated on the provision for unearned premiums on perpetual fire insurance. Amounts of less than EUR 10 do not need to be paid.
