Food control
Local environmental health authorities have the primary responsibility for providing guidance and advice on matters related to food hygiene and food products. Local authorities provide guidance and advice to consumers and food industry entrepreneurs on matters related to food safety.
If you suspect that you or someone you know may have food poisoning, contact your local food control authority. The contact details are available in the section Contact food control authority on the Finnish Food Authority website.
Regional State Administrative Agencies advise local food control authorities and enforce compliance with regulations under the Food Act in their operating areas. We also act as the regional expert on food safety.
If you are not satisfied with food control measures, you can file a complaint.
