Regional State Administrative Agency for Lapland
We cover the whole of Lapland.
Our offices are located in Rovaniemi, in addition to which we have an officer from our Division of Education and Culture working part-time at the Sámi Cultural Centre Sajos in Inari and an officer from our Division of Health and Social Services, Legality and Licensing stationed in Kajaani.
The Director-General of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Lapland is Ms Kaisa Ainasoja. Our various divisions employ a total of approximately 40 people.
The Division of Health and Social Services, Legality and Licensing of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Lapland has national oversight in the following areas:
- enforcement of the Reindeer Husbandry Act
- reindeer meat control and enforcement
- recovery of aid under the Act Repealing the Act on the Regeneration of Lapland’s Low-yielding Forests
The Division of Education and Culture of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Lapland has national oversight in matters relating to Sámi languages.

We are unfortunately unable to process invoices sent by post or email. Any paper invoices that we receive are returned to the sender unpaid.
