Planning and performance management
Our most important performance management documents are our strategy and our performance agreement. Planning and monitoring data relating to performance management can be found in the documents listed below. The documents are divided into performance management documents and other planning and monitoring documents.
A joint strategy document has been drawn up for the Regional State Administrative Agencies and the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for 2024–2027. Finland has six Regional State Administrative Agencies. Key performance objectives and personnel and budgetary frameworks are defined in the performance agreement between Regional State Administrative Agencies and the governing ministries. The performance agreement is drawn up together with the Ministry of Finance. A new strategy and performance agreement are drawn up whenever a new government is elected and reviewed annually if necessary.
Five Regional State Administrative Agencies have a Division of Occupational Safety and Health subject to a separate framework agreement with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The framework agreement acts as the Divisions of Occupational Safety and Health’s strategy. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health uses the strategy to draw up four-year performance agreements with the Divisions of Occupational Safety and Health.
We carry out performance assessments and track the progress of the strategy together with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment as well as other government departments and agencies to which both Regional State Administrative Agencies and Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment report.
All Regional State Administrative Agencies belong to the same accounting unit, which is named after the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland. Our accounting unit produces annual financial statements consisting of an annual report and a financial analysis as well as various calculations and appendices.
