School safety planning

We help local authorities and other operators to draw up preparedness and school safety plans.

If a contingency plan has to be put into action, we act as the Ministry of Education and Culture’s regional representative. This includes liaising with the education sector.

We continuously monitor the safety situation in the education sector and report on developments to the Ministry of Education and Culture as and when necessary.

In practice, ensuring the performance of educational services is the responsibility of local authorities and education providers.

Local authorities oversee the provision of private early education services, but ultimately it is the service providers themselves who are responsible. The goal is to minimise disruptions to education in all circumstances.

Local authorities are responsible for any youth work, sports and library services that they provide. Private service providers are responsible for their own services.
