Youth workshops
Regional State Administrative Agencies’ youth work teams are responsible for promoting and expanding the network of youth workshops, for providing advice and guidance and for keeping statistics on youth workshops in Finland.
Workshops are a form of early intervention that gives young people access to both personal and group-based support. Workshops provide young people with a chance to gain work experience in a guided and supported manner, personalised paths to education and a way to complete their education working in close cooperation with their education provider. Help is also available for job hunting.
We grant state aid to support youth workshops. The aid is designed to prevent social exclusion and school dropouts, to reduce youth unemployment and to increase young people’s participation in society.
Regional youth workshop coordinators
Regional youth workshop coordinators are responsible for training youth workshop staff, for improving the standard of workshops and for promoting the concept in their respective regions. Regional coordinators are also in charge of setting up regional partnership networks and for organising meetings and events. Regional coordinators work in close cooperation with Regional State Administrative Agencies’ youth work teams.

We educate the public about youth workshops
We produce reports and statistics on youth workshops. Our publications can be found online at nuorisotilastot.fi. The website contains information about, for example, workshop participants, methods and services as well as the effectiveness of the approach. The information is communicated visually through pictures, graphs and tables.
